Hey guys. I’ve been listening to the podcasts for a week or so now and i’m working my way up to the current stuff. I’m loving it and said so on itunes not cuz you asked but cuz its deserved. Keep up the great work cuz you’re making my work life so much better getting to listen to geek talk 101 all day.
I have a few ideas for debate, feel free to use if merited.
1. Favorite video games for a specific system i.e. 8-bit Nintendo, PC, PS3, iphone, etc.
2. Favorite food…come on, us geeks love to eat.
3. Top nude scene in a Hollywood movie. A little perverted but like it hasn’t been discussed off air!
4. Worst ways to die. Morbid but interesting.
5. Best ninja(s) i.e. Storm Shadow, TMNT, Ninja Gaiden, Naurto, etc.
6. Biggest surprises in cinema, i.e. Kevin Spacey in Usual Suspects, terrible moment in The Crying Game, Darth Vader “I am your father”, etc
7. Who would win in a fight: Gladiator vs Braveheart, The Batmans in a Royal Rumble, Jason Bourne vs Daniel Craig’s Bond
That should suffice for now. You guys are doing wicked awesome and I love hearing the podcast. If you’re listening to other podcasts out there, give How Stuff Works and Hardcore History a listen. They’re great but no atomic geeks
Huffsman!!
Welcome to the site Huffsman! Glad you are digging the show. Make sure you keep listening. Some cool topic suggestions. I particularly like the Worst/Best deaths. I think there is something to that one… Mwoo Ha Ha Ha. (that is my morbid sinister laugh. I can’t even spell it convincingly)
Yes welcome Huffsman or should I just say “The H-man.” Those are all excellent topic suggestions but since they were not posted on our “Free T-shirt” section they do not qualify for our ongoing t-shirt contest and all said topic ideas become the intellectual property of THE ATOMIC GEEKS Enterprises. But please keep listening. HA! Just kidding! But next time please obey the laws of THE ATOMIC GEEKS.com or you will be banished.
cool new website header!
thanks Bob
our good buddy Ryan designed that for us
Hey Guys,
Andrew suggested your podcast to me one day at work.
I’m hooked! I started at episode 50 and have made it all the way to episode 1.
I have a topic suggestion based on Andrew’s discovery of Top Gear. If you have ever seen the show there is often a section where they have a celebrity guest who takes a spin around the track and is placed on a score board with the other celeb’s.
1 – Which geek would be the fastest?
2 – Which comic book super hero would be the fastest? (with/without powers…?)
3 – If you could have one car to drive every day for the rest of your life what would it be?
4 – Where would you place each others cars – on the cool board or the uncool board?
I also have a question about the Star Trek movie – have we not been told in the past that it is a bad idea to meet your future self? What about the space time continuum?
I have to say I have enjoyed the chapter type format with the photos as well – Especially episode 31B.
One final note, I’m a PC and I can do that too!
Have a good one!
Welcome to the site See…luh…wub…URN! Got it! Well any friend of Andrew’s might be a friend of ours once we conduct the mandatory screening process & series of interviews. HA!HA!HA!HA! I’m not kidding. The information package will be arriving by courier, please do not post until your status has been approved.
OMG OMG OMG !!! Andrew works? I thought he just lived under a bridge and ate whatever rotted animal and or human corpses the river churned up !! Good for you Andrew, and there is no shame in being a chimney sweep, well not much shame anyways…… okay lots of shame and misery and cancer, oodles and oodles of cancer but look on the bright side…..um…..uh…… when you die people will say “Andrew used to be alive but now, not so much. Anyone want a Return of The Jedi glass from McDonald’s, only slightly used??”. People will say the gosh darnedest things after a chimney sweep dies.
Thanks and have a swell day.
So what about this as an episode idea?
If you were in charge of all government funding for scientific research, something like the U.S. DARPA, or the president of a multinational corporation like Massive Dynamic, what ‘fringe’ science would you fund? What realistic science would you want to see explored? What mad science would come out of the Atomic Geeks lab? When you think about organizations like DARPA, they’re working on some crazy stuff sometimes. What would you guys do?
I heard a story on Quirks & Quarks recently about a scientist actually working on replicating an insect’s wall-crawling ability to full human scale. It got me thinking…
Still getting a great kick out of the podcast.
Looks like this thread has been empty to for quite awhile… Regretfully I must necro it. Close your eyes kids! *Ahem*… So as the summer slowly comes to an end and I tire of all the hip and cool things us teenagers do, I decided to catch up on my favourite podcast of which I missed episodes of amidst my wild partying. To my utter delight one of the fellows mentions the possibility of a forum, the episode number has slipped my mind. So, I just though I’d drop a note to say I fully endorse this idea and… stuff. Well, after that persuasive arguement I hope you guys are convinced to stick to your guns on this one. I know I for one would help to nurture the delicious forum baby I’m sure you guys would produce (I would post sentences of words). Anyway it works for 11 o clock comics, another great podcast, you geeks should check it out.
Thank you for your patience,
Lil’ Dunc
P.s. Use my GODDAMN TOPIC IDEAS!!!!! >:(
Lil’ Dunc! A forum is in the works! Unfortunately the task is in my hands so the process is a bit slow. Forum software has been chosen, just some other bits and pieces need to be figured out so stay tuned or whatever.
Love the 11 O’Clock comics! Great podcast that I haven’t listened to in awhile due to my own difficulty in keeping current with todays funny books. Love that Chris is still podcasting after closing shop on Around Comics. Vince brings an interesting perspective as well which I like.
